Two arrested following Chase Street Shooting

On Tuesday, at 3:00 pm Cumberland Police Officers responded to a Chase Street residence for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival to the residence officers located a 33-year-old male who had been shot.  The Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the victim for non-life-threatening injuries and transported him to the hospital for treatment. Investigation by the Cumberland Police Department and detectives from the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) and the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force revealed that three people had entered the Chase Street residence during an altercation when one of them produced a gun and fired on the occupants.  The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. While fleeing the scene the suspect vehicle struck several parked cars along Chase Street causing damage. 

Crime Scene Technicians from the Maryland State Police responded to process the crime scene and collected evidence. 

After investigation, police were able to develop information linking several people to the crime. 

Charee Nicole Henderson, age 26, Cumberland, was located at a Cumberland residence and arrested and charged with: home invasion, felony assault, burglary, conspiracy and related charges. 

Scipio Foster Brown, age 20, Baltimore, was located on foot in the area and arrested and charged with: attempted murder, felony assault, conspiracy and related charges.

Investigation is ongoing into this matter and further arrests are pending.
