It was announced last week that Maryland hospitals and health systems will require all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This will not apply to UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland as it is not part of the University of Maryland Medical System. On Wednesday the University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Medicine announced that starting Sept. 1, all team members will be required to receive their vaccination or participate in weekly testing.
