UPMC Western Maryland Visitation Change

February 15th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

In conjunction with Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's announcement made Thursday, February 11, the Maryland Department of Health issued orders to allow visitation to resume at Maryland hospitals and nursing homes. As such, some limitations set in place at UPMC Western Maryland in mid-November were eased as of Monday morning, February 15. The hospital now allows one dedicated, primary patient support person and an alternate, with only one support person permitted on-site for a patient within designated hours. A support person is not a visitor — they are an essential part of the care team to help our hospital inpatients manage and communicate about their care. Full support person guidelines and regulations can be found by visiting www.UPMCWesternMaryland.com.
