On Saturday September 14, 2013, at 7:30 pm, a Cumberland City Police officer on patrol located Antonio Smith at a business on Virginia Avenue.  The officer checked Smith’s wanted status and it was revealed that Smith,  age 23 of Cumberland, had an outstanding arrest warrant in Allegany County.  He was placed in custody and a search incident to arrest was conducted. Found on Smith’s person was a quantity of suspected Heroin and a hypodermic syringe. Smith was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served.  The pre-existing charges from the arrest warrant stem from a September 12, 2013 incident where Smith allegedly pushed a Cumberland City Police officer on Greene Street.  Smith fled from the officer on foot to the area of Industrial Boulevard as he ran throughout vehicular traffic before being caught and placed in custody.   After a bond review at the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s office, Smith was held on a $10,000 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
