Warrant Arrest for Tuesday, March 19th, 2024

On Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police arrested Michael Shawn Fear, 49, of Cumberland MD. Fear was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on February 29th. During that incident, a victim alleged that Fear had choked them while at a Mechanic St residence. Fear was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police arrested Daniel Cardenas II, 27, of Cumberland MD. Cardenas was arrested on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on March 15th. The warrant alleges Cardenas failed to comply with an order of the court that had been placed upon him due to previous charges that include assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Cardenas was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Oak St for the report of a suspected burglary. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with two male subjects. During the investigation, one male subject had provided a false name to officers. Further investigation revealed that the male subject, William Victor Wight, 39, of Cumberland MD, was wanted on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on March 19th. The warrant alleges Wight violated the terms and conditions of probation that had been placed upon him due to previous conviction on charges of destruction of property and resisting arrest. Wight was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to the 500 block of Maryland Ave for the report of a disturbance. Once on scene, officers contacted two complainants who had advised they were being harassed by two male subjects. Officers located the two male subjects a short distance away and found one of the males to have an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Baltimore City District Court. The warrant alleged that Lamont Gross, 50, had been previously charged by the Maryland Transit Police for carrying lit tobacco products on a train. Since being charged, Gross has failed to appear in court or pay fines regarding the charge. Wight was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond. At the time of his arrest, Gross was also issued Criminal Citations when he was found to be in possession of both suspected CDS and CDS paraphernalia.
