A number of railroad enthusiasts turned out yesterday at the Cumberland Amtrak station is the Capital Limited from Chicago pass through town pulling with it the Silver Palace dome car from the California Zephyr historical rail line. Silver Palace on its way to Washington DC will be picked up by CSX freight and brought back to Cumberland to join the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad fleet as part of their scenic train. Wes Heinz, Executive Director of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad caught up the WCBC News trackside as we streamed the arrival of the car on Facebook. Mr. Heinz says he's excited to have the beautiful Dome car as part of their fleet and says it's not all about riding the train; it's about the people in Western Maryland and pride in the community…
