West Virginia Tops Unhealthy List

January 16th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

A new study from Forbes says that West Virginia tops the list of states with the most unhealthy populations, leading a list of 8 states all below the Mason-Dixon Line.  Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky round out the top five of unhealthy states.  West Virginia earns the dubious honor by having the highest percentage of adults who smoke at 21 %, the highest percentage of obese adults at 41%, and the highest diabetes mortality rate.  If you want to be in a healthier state, literally, consider moving to Hawaii that ranked number one or another of the healthiest states including Utah, Connecticut, and Minnesota.  The complete list can be found here:  https://www.forbes.com/advisor/life-insurance/states-ranked-least-healthy-populations/
