Although it is the middle of summer with temperatures still hovering in the 80’s most days- officials with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad are fully emerged in planning for the fall and winter holiday season which once again be headlined by the popular Polar Express. The holiday excursion based on the 2004 movie features a ride from the Western Maryland Railway Station to Helmstetter's Curve near Cash Valley Road, where Santa's North Pole workshop with lights will be set up. Last year’s Polar Express ticket sales approached 26.000.
