Lorene Garriss Hafer, 81, of Frostburg passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. She is the wife of late Senator John J Hafer, Jr. to whom she was married to for 35 years.
She was born in Troy, NC to the proud parents of Dorothy and Austin Garriss.
In addition to her husband, John J Hafer Jr., she is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Austin Garriss; beloved daughter, Wendy Nelms, and her step son, Doug Hafer.
Mrs. Hafer excelled at Business, Philanthropy, Artistry and Family.
Surviving are her Son, John Nelms and his fiancé, Martha Causby; step children, John J Hafer III and wife Lisa, Nancy DeVore and husband Rob; grandchildren, Jake Hafer, Slater Hafer and wife Whitney, Brian Hafer, Garrett DeVore, Shelby and her husband, Tyler Hutcheson; great grandchildren, Meadow DeVore, Phoebe, Olive and Henry Hutcheson.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
