The Wills Creek Esplanade will remain at Canal Place. At the May 30th meeting of the Canal Place Authority, the condition of the pedestrian bridge was discussed and whether or not it should remain over Wills Creek. DeDe Ritchey, Canal Place Executive Director, told WCBC that the bridge is going to remain as it will be an integral part of the River Park planned for the area as well as being a connector for area trails. The Department of General Services will be putting out a request for proposals to scrape, paint and repair the bridge. The bridge also carries the piping needed to rewater the C&O Canal, a project still in the works for the area.
