Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 6 inches, except 1 to 3 inches over the lower elevations of the central Shenandoah Valley. Ice accumulations of one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch, with the highest potential for ice over the central Shenandoah Valley and northern Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Portions of western Maryland, northwest and western Virginia, and eastern West Virginia from 7 AM to 7 PM EST Saturday. Plan on slippery road conditions.
Precipitation is expected to begin as snow between 7 and 10 AM. The snow will mix with and then change to sleet and freezing rain between 10 AM and 1 PM over the central Shenandoah Valley and northern Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Precipitation may mix with sleet elsewhere after 1 PM, before ending during the early evening.
