February 4th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team competed at the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational over the course of Friday and Saturday, turning in a number of personal records during the meet. The distance medley relay team of freshmen Paige Etnoyer, Isabella Mastria, and Emily Wishart and sophomore Alana Dyce-Giraud set a new school record in 13:02.51, which was good enough for third place and breaking the previous mark of 13:12.50 set in 1982.

Among the individual performances, sophomore Eva Morrison took second in the unseeded pole vault with a height of 3.31 meters. Mastria set a number of personal records throughout the meet, as her top finish was seventh in the 400 (59.02) as the second-best Division II performer, later competing in the 200 (26.05) and the long jump (5.36m), with that distance putting her fourth all-time in program history.

In her first 3,000-meter race, Dyce-Giraud ran a 10:56.22, putting her eighth overall and fifth all-time in Frostburg history.

In addition to the top places, FSU had several athletes set personal high marks, of which are listed below by event and athlete. The Bobcats will return to action on Saturday, February 10 to take part in the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games in Geneva, Ohio. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
