WV Natural Gas Prices Should Be Lower This Winter

October 11th, 2023 by WCBC Radio

The price utilities pay their suppliers for gas is not regulated by the Public Service Commission but rather is determined by the market.  Last year, the market was particularly volatile, leading to increased costs. This year, the market has settled and prices have decreased by 20-40%, depending on the gas provider. Mountaineer and Hope Gas together serve almost 89% West Virginia’s customers, including Mineral County and have asked the PSC for adjustments that may lower residential bills for the winter.
