WV PSC Grants Permit To Hampshire County Solar Facility

November 15th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

The Public Service Commission has granted a siting certificate to Capon Bridge Solar, LLC for a solar exempt wholesale electric generating facility in Hampshire County, West Virginia.

Capon Bridge plans to construct a 20 megawatt solar generating facility as an exempt wholesale generator.  The project will interconnect with existing distribution facilities owned by The Potomac Edison Company.  Construction costs for the project are estimated to be $17 million.

The West Virginia Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO was granted intervenor status in the case.  The Commission did not receive a single protest to the project application, which is widely supported by the community.

Additional information, including the Final Order, is available on the Commission website: www.psc.state.wv.us by referencing Case No. 21-0566-E-SCS-PW.
