Ballots Correct, Mailing Botched

The Maryland State Board of Elections is continuing efforts to educate the public on incorrect mail-in ballots sent to over 500,000 state residents. The board has sent corrected ballots out to voters, but has been unclear about what they’ll do if incorrect ballots are received. At Friday’s election board meeting, State Election Administrator Jared DeMarinis explained that the ballots themselves are right, but went to the wrong people. Democrats received Republican ballots and vice versa…
“During the packing or the inserting of the ballot packet with the envelope for a voter that party identification was left off. The vendor themselves were unable to accurately identify who was impacted out of that universe.”
