City In Midst of Fall Paving

Various streets throughout the city have been or are being readied for fall paving by the City of Cumberland. Finished, in progress or planned streets include Pennsylvania Avenue, Hilltop Drive, Frederick Street, and Shades Lane. Mayor Ray Morriss says the city will continue to pave until the weather becomes an obstacle to the getting work completed…

“We’ll keep going as long as the weather stays good. We can continue to pave as long as the asphalt companies stay open. Sometimes with these schedules, you’re a little reluctant to put everything you want to do on there because if the weather turns the first of October, it prevents you from doing something you want to do.”
