Community Concert Memorial Weekend

Let’s Beautify Cumberland is hosting a free community concert on Sunday, May 24th at the Canal Place festival grounds. This USO-style event begins at 3 p.m. as we gather to salute our community’s veterans and kick off America’s 250th Birthday.
The afternoon will feature live music from the Chinese Bandits, playing rock ‘n’ roll hits from the 50s through the 80s, along with patriotic favorites from DJ Mark Stevens. Various food and drink vendors will also be on-site for your enjoyment. A limited number of lawn chairs will be provided however, you’re encouraged too bring your own or grab a blanket and enjoy the afternoon with neighbors, friends and family.
Chris Myers, Event Coordinator for Let’s Beautify Cumberland said “In lieu of a Memorial Day parade this year, we have decided to host this concert at Canal Place to celebrate with the community.” Ed Mullaney, co-chair of Let’s Beautify Cumberland noted “this is an opportunity to relive the past, cherish the present, and celebrate the future. We hope you will join us for this special celebration to honor our veterans at Canal Place in historic downtown Cumberland.”
