County Gathering Info For Next Solar Farm Hearing

Allegany County will testify at the next hearing on a solar project on Helmstetter’s Curve in September and cross-examine the case Solar Star Allegany South made for the project.  Commissioner Bill Atkinson told WCBC the county attorney is gathering information from partners such as the Great Allegheny Passage, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, and Tracks and Yaks…

“We want to cross-examine the Maryland Historical Trust who said it didn’t have any consequences.  What we want them to understand, though, is that it’s twenty miles, yes, but there are only three view sheds throughout that twenty miles.  Everything else – you’re riding through beautifully forested areas.  So, one of three, we think makes a difference.”
