Deputies Help Recapture Family Dog

After a vehicle collision last week near Barton, two Allegany County Sheriff Deputies could have went on with their patrol, but they went the extra mile to help a family recover their dog.  After clearing a crash, Deputies Tanner Clites and Shaun Vanmeter saw a couple trying to catch their family dog running along Route 36.  Recognizing the danger to both animal and family, the deputies assisted and helped recover the dog and return it to its owners. The deputies also helped a driver with a disabled vehicle in the area shortly after.
