Gov. Moore Focused on Immigration Reform

Maryland Governor Wes Moore (D) met with business leaders in Annapolis Tuesday. The session focused on the significant impact of federal immigration policy on the state’s economy. Governor Moore described the current immigration system as broken and urged Congress to adopt reforms that provide greater predictability. The Governor committed to exploring state-level actions to support Maryland business owners. To highlight the economic importance of this issue, he shared that immigrants currently make up approximately 30% of Maryland’s nurses, childcare workers, construction workers, and entrepreneurs.
