Silent Auction At Whiskey Rebellion

The Allegany Museum is hosting the 10^th Whiskey Rebellion on Friday, September 11^th.  The evening celebrates the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion and serves as major fundraiser that will include a silent auction featuring vacation packages, WVU football tickets, and other special items.  Museum President Vic Rezendes says the event was created a as a way to keep the Allegany Museum running as a free museum…

“We get a lot of money in grants, but most of those grants go for capital projects.  We can’t spend a dime of that on operations.  And our operations are very expensive.  Just our utility bill is $62,000 a year.  So, this is critical to us.”
