City Police Make Arrest on Disturbing the Peace

On Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019, at approximately 3:15am, The Cumberland City Police Department responded to a Grand Ave residence for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted the caller as well as a separate witness. Both advised officers that a male subject identified as Jason Lynn Winfield, age 37, of Cumberland MD was at the residence causing a disturbance. Winfield was said to be outside the home and knocking on the door. Officers were also advised that Winfield was screaming loudly. When officers arrived on scene, Winfield fled the area on foot. Officers were initially unable to locate Winfield in the area. Officers responded back to the residence two more times during the early morning hours for similar complaints of Winfield causing disturbances. Each time, Winfield had left on foot prior to officer’s arrival on scene. Winfield was able to be located hiding under a parked vehicle a short distance from the residence. Due to his behavior, Winfield was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was issued a criminal citations and released, pending trial in District Court.
