Concert Scheduled to Benefit New Animal Shelter

The Travelin’ McCourys and Friends will perform a benefit concert Friday October 12th at Windsor Hall in Downtown Cumberland to help raise funds for construction of a new Allegany County Animal Shelter. The Animal Shelter Management Foundation is spearheading a capital campaign to construct an 11,000-square-foot adoption and care facility near the site of the current animal shelter. Estimated total cost for the facility could be anywhere from 2.5 to 4 million dollars. Having established a firm relationship with Blue Grass legend Del McCoury and his family as a result of the annual DelFest concerts at the Allegany County Fairgrounds- the McCoury family was asked to help with a fundraiser, and there was no hesitation. Dave Williams serves as a spokesman for the Foundation.
