Footer Saw Tooth Structure May Be Re-Added

It was with great debate and controversy that the Canal Place Preservation Development Authority several years ago voted to raze the historic saw tooth structure adjacent to the Footer Dye Works building in order to create additional parking spaces. It appears as though there may be an effort to reverse what many feel was a great mistake beginning in the near future. During Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the authority, the board received an overview of an economic impact study recently completed of the Footer Dye Works building- and it shows that the property, and potential spin off is far greater with the saw tooth structure than without. Executive Director Dee Dee Ritchie said redevelopment  of the saw tooth structure as part of the overall plans for the Footer Dye Works project offers exciting potential…
