On September 30, 2011 the Cumberland City Police Department responded to an East Fourth Street residence in reference to a domestic assault / burglary. Upon the officers arrival contact was made with a female victim who advised that Danny Lee Chapman Jr forced his way into her residence. The female victim was struck by the door as Chapman kicked the door open. The victim’s injury was minor in nature and did not require medical treatment. Chapman had fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. Chapman responded to the Cumberland City Police Department at which time he was placed under arrest. Chapman was taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was held on $7,500.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.
