Maryland Casinos Reporting Increase in Revenue

While still awaiting the opening of a slots parlor at Rocky Gap and two other locations across the state, Maryland Lottery officials report that revenues increased at the state's two operating slots parlors in July. WBAL reports that according to figures released Friday, Hollywood Casino Perryville and the Casino at Ocean Downs generated a combined $15.5-million in July, an over 23% increase compared to June when the parlors generated $12.6-million. Revenue at Ocean downs rose over 43% from June to July with the facility generating more than $5.3-million. Revenue increased more than 16% at the Perryville location which generated $10.2-million July.  Maryland Lottery Director Stephen Martino, whose agency oversees the slots parlors, said its early in the slots process in the state to read too much into these early monthly returns.
