Maryland Mountain Trails Requesting Marketing Funding

Detailing the economic impact the Great Allegheny Passage is having on Allegany County and the City of Cumberland- the president of Maryland Mountain Trails is requesting marketing funding from the city. Maryland Mountain Trails was one of about 15 organizations seeking funds from the city’s hotel/motel tax appropriations. MMT President Nicole Wagoner said that the numbers show use of the trail is on the rise and those riders provide a tremendous shot in the arm for the region. Ms. Wagoner, who serves as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Fairfield Inn and Suites, reports that the large number of bikers staying at the hotel is a solid indicator of how the local economy is benefitting from the trail…
