Mayor And City Council Exploring Budget Cut Options

Facing a loss of a half a million dollars as a result of plummeting property home assessments- the Cumberland Mayor and City Council is exploring any number of potential budget cuts- a decision that could impact local tourism. Although not mandatory, the city has set aside a funding allocation each year for events and programs that result in economic development opportunities for the city in terms of hotel and motel revenues.
