Second Forum on Downtown Scheduled This Week

August 13th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

On Thursday, a second town forum will be held at Windsor Hall to discuss potential solutions to the problems facing downtown Cumberland-  however it appears as though some of the issues are already being dealt with. One of the most frequent concerns expressed at the first meeting held in July was that of homeless people and pandhandlers causing issues on the mall.  Last week an elderly woman was assaulted by a woman who  routinely resides at the Liberty Street Parklet-  however police arrested the woman and are saying  she will not be allowed to return. The victim called into WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” and thanked downtown manager Ed Mullaney and the City Police for their swift response to the incident.
