Seven Schools Receive Validation for Early Childhood Programs

The Allegany County Board of Education recognized seven schools at their monthly work session for receiving full validation of their early childhood programs from the Maryland State Department of Education.  All ACPS pre-k and kindergarten classrooms participate in this validation process through MSDE every three years.  Beall, Flintstone, George’s Creek, John Humbird, Northeast, South Penn, and West Side Elementary Schools were honored for having their early childhood programs accredited by MSDE.  Dee Blank, Supervisor of Elementary Education for the school system. The seven schools recognized are now certified to meet the Standards for Quality Early Childhood Programs and are dedicated to maintaining educational excellence in the early learning years.  The remaining seven ACPS elementary schools will be completing the process for validation this school year. Additionally, Maryland’s Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge will recognize programs successfully completing the validation process through the Maryland EXCELS program.
