Sewer Rate Hike Due to State Mandated Upgrades Coming to Frostburg Area

December 10th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

State mandated upgrades are leading the Allegany County Commissioners to at least consider a sewer rate hike for those in of the Braddock Run Sanitary District. Public Works Director Paul Kahl outlined the project as well as a status report on some loans and grant which have been beneficial in lessening the impact on customers. The Braddock Run district consists of Frostburg, Eckhart, Grahamtown, Consol and Clarysville and covers approximately 5,300 units. Kahl said payments on the loans will add up to an annual rate increase of $11 for those customers in the district. About 1,000 units that are served by Braddock run are considered county customers- and Kahl says they would end up paying $19 more per year. ..
