A “Tire Amnesty Day” is scheduled in Allegany County for Saturday, October 12th. The county commissioners last week entered into a Tire Collection Day Intergovernmental Agreement with the Maryland Environmental Service to fund a County-Operated Scrap Tire Amnesty Day at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. Terri Bennett is the county’s recycling coordinator and said that the program will allow a county resident to bring up to ten tires for disposal free of charge on that day.
