Now well into its 25th season, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is enjoying something of a revival this year. Under the leadership of Michael Gresham, the new general manager and chief operating officer, who began in the post in mid April- ridership numbers, are on the rise. Addressing the Cumberland Rotary Club Tuesday, Gresham said that his pre-season goal of 45,000 riders is still possible, particularly if the rights to run a version of the Polar Express can be obtained.
