County fighting harmful legislation

February 25th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

In a continued effort to let Annapolis hear Allegany County's voice on key issues, the County Commissioners offered letters and resolutions of opposition on two pieces of legislation. The decisions came Thursday at their regular public business meeting.
Commissioners voted to send letters to the District 1 legislative delegation voicing their opposition to legislation that would eliminate the Maryland-mined coal tax credit and the Budget Reconciliation and Finance Act of 2012, which would shift teacher pension liabilities to the counties of Maryland.
