Cumberland Police Make Assault & Disorderly Conduct Arrests

At about 6 PM on Saturday, officers from the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a Fort Cumberland Homes residence for a domestic assault.

Upon the arrival of officers they made contact with the victim who was visibly shaken and upset. The officers also observed visible injuries to the victim. During the course of the officers’ investigation they learned that Trevon Marcel Emerson had been at the residence with the victim.

He became upset and started breaking items inside the residence. The victim attempted to leave the apartment when Emerson struck her knocking her down. The victim was also holding her small child at the time of the assault. The victim again attempted to leave but Emerson refused to allow her and the child to leave pulling her back into the residence. The assault was heard by neighbors and when Emerson learned that the police was contacted he fled the area on foot. He was located a few streets away where he was taken into custody without incident.

Emerson was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. He was later transported to the District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $10,000.00 bond.

Early Sunday morning, at around 12:30 AM,officers were dispatched to a Grand Avenue residence for the report of a domestic assault. Upon the arrival of officers they made contact with both the victim and the suspect.

The officers conducted their investigation and determined that an assault occurred prior to their arrival. The female victim had injuries consistent with what she stated occurred during the assault. At the conclusion was the investigation officers arrested Barry Lamont Holman.

Holman was transported for processing and later taken before the District Court Commissioner. Holman was later transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where he was held on a $3,500.00 bond.

At approximately 0107 hours on 4/23/17 officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on S. Centre Street for traveling the wrong direction on a one way street.

While speaking with the operator of the vehicle officers noticed a male subject approaching them. Officers asked the male who was later identified as Patrick Vincent Ingram to please stay away from the stop until the officers concluded the stop. Ingram became irate and started yelling and cursing at officers.

Several other people were in the area and took notice of the disturbance that Ingram was causing. The officers had to take their attention away from the traffic stop to deal with Ingram. Officers attempted numerous times to get Ingram to calm down and step away from the traffic stop. Ingram refused and continued to yell at officers. At this point officers elected to place Ingram under arrest for obstruction and hindering as well as other charges.

Officers attempted to place him in hand restraints but he refused to cooperate and attempted to pull away after a brief struggle he was placed under arrest. Ingram was processed and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released pending trial in District Court.
