On Saturday at approximately 3:30 PM Deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Monte Notte Terrace in Oldtown, Maryland for a report of a female who allegedly threatened another person with a shotgun.
Deputies arrived on scene and were able to safely remove the occupants from the residence.
Pursuant to the investigation, Deputies arrested 54 year old Anita Lynn Singleton of Tazewell TN / Oldtown MD. It was learned that the two victims were invited to the residence by Singleton who allowed them into the residence. Singleton then produced a shotgun and threatened to shoot the victims, and blocked one from leaving the residence. The victims were able to escape and call 911.
Singleton was charged with the following:
Assault 1st Degree x2
Assault 2nd Degree x2
False Imprisonment
Two shotguns were recovered from the residence.
Singleton was taken before a District Court Commissioner and ordered to be held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
