Police Arrest Man in Domestic Assault Involving Knife

On Thursday June, 27, 2018 units from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 block of Greene Street for a domestic disturbance. Upon the units arrival they contacted victim who had been locked out of her apartment. The victim told the officers that she had been arguing with her live-in boyfriend, David Ronald Lion Christifer.  According to the victim during the argument Christifer reportedly grabbed a knife and attempted to stab her.

The victim was able to knock the knife from Christifer’s hand. After losing the knife, Christifer pushed the victim out of the apartment and locked the door. As a result of the incident and recovery of evidence, Christifer was placed under arrest without further incident. The victim suffered no apparent injury that would require medical attention. Christifer was transported to the police station for charges and processing. 

As a result of his initial appearance at the District Court Commissioner’s office, Christifer was held at the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

Assault 1st degree

Assault 2nd degree
