June 9th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Heritage Days will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, and organizers say the street festival offers something for everyone. The festival is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no admission fee, but there may be a fee for some activities. The event takes place on historic Washington Street, known as the original site of Fort Cumberland and for its Victorian homes, and Historic City Center, with its late-19th and early-20th century architecture. Other children’s activities include face painting, pony rides and the Allegany Arts Council’s Arts Bus, a traveling studio with a variety of children’s art projects. Musical entertainment runs both days, both on the Washington Street stage and the McCoury Family Stage on Baltimore Street. The entertainment includes local bands and entertainers. New this year, the U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass Band will be featured on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. on the Washington Street stage.
