ACPS Class of 2016 Grads Accepted to 57 Colleges, Universities, and Technical Schools

The Allegany County Public School System is proud to announce that students in the graduating Class of 2016 have been accepted to 57 different colleges, universities, and technical schools across the country.  Of the 654 graduates, 255 of them have chosen to continue their studies locally at either Allegany College of Maryland or Frostburg State University.  In addition, 264 graduates were offered a total of $9,349,211 in merit, athletic, academic and senatorial scholarships. 

Additionally, two students will have the opportunity to attend Ivy League schools in the fall. Thorne Lindsey of Allegany High School will enroll at the University of Pennsylvania, and Dylan Rice of Fort Hill will enroll at Harvard University.

            The list of colleges, universities, and technical schools graduates of the Class of 2016 will be attending in the fall is as follows: Allegany College of Maryland, Art Institute of Charleston, Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Bethany College, Brigham-Young University, Bucknell University, California University of Pennsylvania, Capita Technical University, Coastal Carolina University, Dickenson University, Duquesne University, Elon University, Fairmont State University, Frederick Community College, Frostburg State University, Full Sail University, Garrett College, George Mason University, Harvard University, Lake Erie College, LaRoche College, Liberty University, Marshall University, McDaniel College, McKendree University, Montgomery Community College, Palm Beach State College, Penn State University, Pennsylvania Technical College, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, Potomac State College, Regency Beauty Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rosedale Technical Institute, Saint Mary’s College, Salisbury University, Shepherd University, The Citadel, The Temple – A Paul Mitchell School of Beauty, Towson University, University of Chicago, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of New Haven, University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, University of South Alabama, University of Tampa, University of Toledo, Virginia Commonwealth University, Washington and Jefferson College, Wesley College, West Virginia State University, West Virginia Wesleyan College, Westminster University, and WVU Institute of Technology.
