ACTA Letter To County Commissioner Mike McKay

May 23rd, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Comments made last week by Allegany County Commissioner Mike McKay, critical of the board of education, have not been well received by board members. Mckay, during last Thursday’s work session, said that he received a letter from a teacher “attacking” his family; and said the school board sits in “an ivory tower” with no regard for any other operation that requires county funding. He went on to say the issue had become personal and that he was walking away from any further budget discussions pertaining to the board. School Board member Mike Llewellyn said that since ACTA has now posted the letter in question, containing no threats or attacks on McKay’s family- the commissioners owe some apologies.

Why should McKay apologise. The BOE has been begging for more money that is not needed. McKay doesn’t have to state why he sends his kids to Private School.
