During the week of August 13th deputies of the Allegany County Sheriffs Office, assisted by the Maryland State Police, conducted a criminal enforcement initiative throughout the George's Creek Area of Allegany County. During this initiative a total of 27 traffic stops were conducted resulting in five criminal drug investigations. Of those drug investigations a total of four adults and three juveniles were charged with various drug related criminal offenses. US Currency and one vehicle was seized during this operation. The Allegany County Sheriffs Office will continue these types of initiatives in the near future throughout other areas of Allegany County. We encourage the publics continued assistance in contacting our office with information concerning those individuals that are trafficking drugs into our county.
