Animal Shelter Seizes 80+ Cats From Local Animal Rescue

January 4th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

80 plus cats have been seized by the Allegany County Animal Shelter and animal control from Charm City Animal Rescue.

According to a shelter spokesperson, "This puts a huge financial and space strain on the shelter. Monetary donations for vet care, dry and wet cat food, blankets and cleaning supplies are needed. Donations may be made online at alleganyanimalshelter.com. We need your help."

We expect to have further information, and perhaps charges related to the incident, in the near future.

This room at the shelter has been converted into a space for the 80+ cats that were seized last week. Until all the cats are checked by our vet to make sure they are healthy, we need to keep them isolated from the other animals in the shelter.
