Area Officials Studying Ways To Consolidate Cumberland And County Services

Just a few weeks ago, officials from Allegany County and the city of Cumberland agreed to study ways to consolidate services, and while some of those changes could be completed in a matter of months- others might take several years to come to fruition.  The agreement calls for an evaluation of city and county operations with a focus on streamlining or combining some departments to create a more efficient delivery of government services.     Consolidating city and county will streamline people right out of their jobs. Using the example of tax and utility billing; it will now become one office and a number of junior employees will be let go increasing the workload for those that remain. Same thing for street crews and so on and so on. If this actually happens the newest hires in every department of city/county government should be worried as the quickest way to save money is employee reductions.

    you could buy trucks with more seats in them to ride around all day,,that way, you could save on gas!!
