A water problem occurred in the Sunrise Heights area near Fort Ashby on Monday, 5/4/15 causing a Boil Water Notice to be issued. An apparent water main break occured and crews have been workinig to repair the leak. Conditions indicate there is a high probability that water in the area is contaminated. Testing has not occurred to confirm or deny the presence of contamination in the water. The Utility has directed residents not to drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
The Utility anticipates the problem will be resolved in two or three days.
