Candidate Says She Doesn’t Have Ax To Grind

August 5th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Although currently suing the Allegany County Board of Education and Superintendent David Cox for the manner in which her employment was handled- Lorelee Farrell tells WCBC News that her campaign for a seat on the school board is not about having an ax to grind.  Farrell and her husband Robert have filed a civil lawsuit against the school board stating that decisions made by board staff that led to their separations were unjust.  Robert Farrell worked as coordinator of safety, security and risk management. Lorelee Farrell was assistant supervisor of health and family life. Robert Farrell's position was eliminated while Lorelee Farrell was reassigned from her post before she ultimately retired. The superintendent is named in the civil suit.  Mrs. Farrell, one of three candidates seeking a seat on the school board in November, tells WCBC News that although hiring a new superintendent would be a top priority if elected that has nothing to do with her lawsuit…
