City man facing drug, gun charges

On Thursday, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Cumberland Emergency Response Team at a residence located in the 100 block of High Lane.  The search warrant stemmed from information that was provided to the Cumberland Police Department which initiated an investigation by the patrol division.  During a search of the residence a large quantity of controlled dangerous substance was located to include the following;

-344 grams of Marijuana, estimated street value is $6,700.00.

-24 grams of THC resin, estimated street value is $1,100.00.

-60 narcotic prescription pills, estimated street value is $600.00.

-9mm semi-automatic handgun.

-Approximately $4,700.00 in cash.

All items were seized as evidence related to the search warrant.

The resident, Gary Wayne Shriver 3rd, 23 years old, Cumberland, MD was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.  Shriver was charged with the following;

-Two counts of CDS possession with intent to distribute

-CDS carry firearm while drug trafficking.

-CDS Possess firearm connected to drug trafficking.

Shriver was later taken to the District Court Commissioner’s Office and held without bail at the Allegany County Detention Center.
