City Police Investigate Burglary; Respond to Assault Call

The following is the Cumberland City Police police log for Thursday, March 17: 

Burglary Investigation

On March 16, 2016 at approximately 12:52 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Greene Street for a burglary complaint.  Officers learned several power tools were taken during the burglary.  The burglary occurred sometime between March 15 and the time police responded on the 16th.  Police are asking anybody with information about the burglary to call the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.

 

Assault Arrest

On March 16, 2016 the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to an assault.  Upon arrival officers learned Noah Arthur Cosner had assaulted a female during an argument.  Investigation revealed Cosner pushed the female, causing her to sustain an injury to her hand.  The Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the female victim to the hospital for further treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  Cosner was arrested and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing.  He was later taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.  Cosner was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next court appearance.

Charges:  2nd Degree Assault
