City Police Respond to North End Robbery

On Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at approximately 5:15 p.m. the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 700 block of Lincoln Street in reference to a robbery.  Upon the officers arrival they contacted the victim who was outside the residence.  The victim stated that an unknown W/M knocked on his front door, he answered the door and the subject walked in and displayed a long rifle and demanded prescription pills.  The suspect then began to remove a television set at which time the victim fled the residence and called the police.

Officers checked the residence and it appeared as though the suspect fled prior to officers arriving on the scene.  Officers checked the area and are currently reviewing video surveillance footage.  The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office assisted in searching the area.  A Detective from the Combined County Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) responded to the scene for further investigation.
