City to Meet with CSX on Bridges Today on Formal Agreement

Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim reiterating the city’s position when it comes to the CSX  bridge issue.  The city and CSX Transporation representatives are meeting again today in an effort to finalize a plan and reach a formal agreement.  At a mid September public meeting, city officials announced details of a  plan designed to resolve the  problems created as a result of three aging bridges being closed and an overpass routinely struck by tractor trailers. The city has been negotiating with CSX on a monthly basis since July in an effort to find solutions that would lead to the Fayette, Cumberland and Washington Street bridges re-opened. Mayor Grim has sounded increasingly upbeat following each of the erlier meetings with CSX- and the hope is that an official deal is close at hand…
