Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade chided representatives from the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad during a Thursday afternoon budget hearing. With long term liabilities easily exceeding cash on hand, Shade questioned how long the current fiscal situation can continue. He said the railroad board’s decision to put the steam engine 1309 restoration project on hold after touting it as a key to the operation’s future- is another action that has him concerned….
